Dr Danielle Crida obtained her MBChB from the University of Stellenbosch in 2000. She completed her internship and community service at Groote Schuur Hospital. From 2005 – 2007, she worked for the Department of Health at the Hannan Crusaid Treatment Centre, a dedicated community based antiretroviral clinic which was established by the DTHF and the Western Cape Department of Health. During this time she established a dedicated adolescent anti-retroviral treatment division. She headed up a team which developed a flipchart used for patient education, which was rolled out to anti-retroviral clinics provincially. She has worked for the DTHF at the Emavundleni Research Centre since 2008. She has been a sub-investigator on several HIV vaccine, microbicide and pre-exposure prophylaxis clinical trials. She has also worked on HPV vaccine trials, seroconverter and vaccine-induced seropositivity protocols, and been involved in protocol development.
